Teagan Tate has everything he’s ever wanted, but despite his wild success as a musician and his wild popularity with the ladies, he’s lonely. Meaningless hook-ups are getting old. There is one woman he’s interested in, but she won’t give him the time of day.
Maria Ruiz has no time for men like Teag – men with a revolving bedroom door who are too cocky for their own good. Sure, he has the body of a Greek god and a sexy Aussie accent, but as head of security for his band, Maria won’t risk her professional reputation. And as a woman who’s been there and done that, she won’t risk her heart.
Things take a deadly turn when Teag is the sole surviving witness to a cartel murder. Still recovering from his injuries, he’s forced into hiding with his sexy bodyguard. As their feelings grow into something unexpected and wonderful, a ruthless killer continues to hunt Teag.
Maria and Teag must rely on each other to stay out of his crosshairs, or they risk losing each other and their chance at love.
Moving Target Offers Readers Action, Suspense, and Romance. Okay, I am not a fan of instant romances or, really, romance novels in general. Add action, adventure, suspense, and entertaining characters, and I am willing to endure the sudden love story. While the action, adventure, and love story taking the stage in Moving Target are all a bit unrealistic at times, they also add to the entertainment and keep readers invested in the story and the character outcomes. Some scenes are far-fetched, but there are enough plot twists, back stories, and side stories to make this a fun, quick read.
Moving Target Starts Off With a Bang--Then Requires Some Patience. The beginning of this book blasts readers with sudden action and throws this into a suspense-filled adventure--then it backtracks. I loved the beginning of the book--it caught my interest, and I was ready for an adventure with the characters. Then--everything kind of slowed down as we backed up and learned about the characters and the stories leading up to the action at hand. Be patient through the backtracking as the storyline picks up rapidly a little later and becomes a page-turner through the end and even through the Epilogue.
Would I Recommend Moving Target? This book is a stand-alone novel with characters revisiting from the first few books of the series and some allusions to past events and dramas. In a true action-adventure / romantic suspense style, this book is not necessarily the most realistic in relationship development or some plot twists. However, it has an entertaining storyline that holds interest and keeps readers (even cynical ones) invested in hoping for a happy ending for the characters. If you enjoy romantic suspense with flawed characters settling into love--this book is a fun read with a satisfying resolution.
