About the Book
Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters offers over 40 short, first person narratives of real-life brushes with the supernatural. Bell’s compilation covers near death experiences, encounters with guardian angels, demonic forces—and a little bit of anything else that caused the writer pause to reflect on the origin of the happenings around him or her.
My Review
Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters is an easy, enjoyable read. I have said many times that this Mama is no longer in-tune with full length literary works written above the high school level. My time and attention span leave me bursts of reading time between dance classes or before I give in to exhaustion at the end of the day. I prefer short stories or books written without a page to page flow. There were many nights that I would read only one essay. Other nights I read several stories before I could put down the book.
Would I recommend Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters? Most of us have experienced things that are simply not explained by rational, scientific explanations. I would recommend Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters to anyone who enjoys the supernatural—or anyone who is the need of an uplifting, spiritual reminder. There were stories that brought me to tears--and others that brought shivers to my spine. Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters was a well written, diverse compilation of essays related to real-world, supernatural events that I think is certainly worth the read.
